| The Depot Market Cafe is located in the center of town at the train station, one block from the mall and just three blocks from the beach. Everything is homemade and delicious.As a visitor to Cape May, you will have an opportunity to rub elbows with the locals who all go here regularly. And you know that the locals know the best places in town. Everyday the Depot has soup - they make it fresh every day and it is always grand. To go with your soup, you can order a large or small house salad with Indonesian Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, or Grilled Chicken. If you want a cold sandwich or hoagie, there are many choices such as Turkey, Roast Beef or Ham Club; Smoked Turkey, Avacado & Bacon; Roast Beef, Bacon & Blue Cheese, or BLT. Now the Depot is open during dinner hour - until 8 pm and the food is just great. If you want to eat dinner at home without doing the cooking, this is the place for you. You can take them will you either hot or cold. The Depot has Lasagna, Meatloaf, Chicken Parmesan, Stuffed Pork Chops and Shepards Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Macaroni & Cheese and many daily specials. The Depot also has the largest stuffed baked potatoes in the world. If you get hungry mid afternoon, stop in for coffee and homemade cookies, brownies or cakes. You won't be disappointed. The locals have found the Depot Market Cafe and gather for lunches daily and often stop by to "pick up dinner to go". Everything is delicious so making a choice of what to eat becomes difficult. Parking is available, handicap access is easy, no credit cards or checks and reservations are not needed. |
